Local honey from Norfolk beekeepers

Lots of our members sell honey from their own hives, straight from the door, the farm gate or a local shop. Buying from a beekeeper near you means honey made by bees working the hedgerows, fields and gardens just down the road.

Most of our members are hobby beekeepers with a handful of hives, so stock is limited and seasonal. If someone has sold out, try again after the next harvest, usually late summer.

    Buying from a member

Get in touch with the beekeeper using the details on their listing to check what they've got and arrange collection. Please be patient - most of our members have day jobs, and the bees come first on a sunny afternoon…

Pins show the village or town a member sells from, not their exact address. They'll tell you where to go when you arrange to collect.

Honey and babies: the NHS advises not to give honey to children until they're over 1 year old. Occasionally honey contains bacteria that can produce toxins in a baby's gut, causing infant botulism.

Sales are between you and the beekeeper

Any sale is made directly between the buyer and the beekeeper. The Norfolk Beekeepers' Association is not a party to it and is not responsible for the honey or other products, their quality, price, availability or labelling, or for anything arising from a purchase. Any questions or complaints should go to the seller.

    Listings

Listings are supplied by our members, who are responsible for keeping them accurate. Being listed does not mean the NBKA has inspected the member's apiary, tested their honey or endorses them. We do our best to keep the map up to date but cannot guarantee that a listing is current, that a member has stock, or that the details are correct. We may decline or remove any listing at our discretion.

    Sellers' responsibilities

Members selling honey are responsible for making sure it complies with the law, including the Honey (England) Regulations 2015 and general food labelling and hygiene rules. Each jar should be labelled with:

    • The name of the food - "Honey", or a reserved description such as "Comb honey" where it applies
    • The country where it was harvested, e.g. "Origin: UK"
    • The net weight in grams, in most cases at least 4mm high. An imperial weight may be added but must be no more prominent than the metric one
    • A best before date
    • The name and address of the beekeeper
    • A lot mark - a best before date showing at least the day and month can serve as one

The name and the weight must be visible together when the jar is held. A floral or regional name (e.g. "Heather honey") can only be used if the honey comes wholly or mainly from that source. We also encourage members to add "Not suitable for children under 12 months". For full guidance see Business Companion: labelling of honey, or ask Norfolk Trading Standards.

    Your privacy

The NBKA only shows the details a member has asked us to publish, with their consent. Members can ask us to change or remove their listing at any time through our contact page and we'll do so promptly. Contact details on this page are published so the public can buy honey. Please don't use them for marketing or any other purpose.

If you search with a postcode it is sent to postcodes.io to find its location. "Use my location" asks your browser for your position. Neither is stored or sent to the NBKA. The map is drawn with tiles from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address when tiles load.
